The West Ottawa Ladies Chorus, an auditioned community choir, will present a selection of beautiful carols and Christmas songs in three and four part arrangements at its annual Christmas concert. A fast-paced song featuring Russian Sleighs will contrast with the quiet landscape of “Amid the Falling snow”. Tchaikovsky makes a sprightly appearance in ‘Nutcracker Jingles” and John Rutter provides his special magic in the “Candlelight Carol”.
There are always a couple of sing-along numbers for the audience – this year “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open fire” is one of them – and the program sets the tone for a joyful and satisfying Christmas season.
The choir’s conductor is Robert Dueck and the accompanist is jazz pianist Peter Brown.
Venue is St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 20 Young Road Kanata K2L 1W1
