Welcome the season with the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir’s annual Festival of Carols. The Choir – conducted by Howard Dyck – will be joined by the Toronto Youth Choir and the Canadian Staff Band. Enjoy Yuletide favourites that go from quiet contemplation to joyous celebration. Conductor Howard Dyck brings together traditional – with works by Mendelssohn and Bach – and contemporary, with the premiere to two Canadian works – Stephanie Martin’s An Earthly Tree, a tribute to Healey Willan, and Russ Wilkinson’s There is No Rose, the winner of the TMC’s Choral Composition Competition. The concert includes the popular audience carol sing along where audience members are joined by choir, organ and brass band in singing popular carols.
