The popular women’s choir, Monday Morning Singers, directed by Anne Mizen, is presenting a Christmas concert in the first week of Advent, Friday, November 30 at 7:30 p.m. at St Paul’s Anglican Church in Uxbridge.
The highlight of this Christmas concert is a new composition by the young Norwegian composer, Kim Andre Arnesen called Magnificat. The text is also known as the Song of Mary and is her response to the visit of the angel Gabriel.
It is written for women’s voices, soprano solo and organ. The special guest performers for this concert are the lyrical soprano, Grace Rogers and acclaimed Canadian organist, Ian Sadler.
The choir will also perform well-known carol arrangements for the Christmas season. As always, the singers are joined by Dorothy Jovkovic, the choir’s rehearsal pianist and accompanist .
And,of course, the audience is invited to sing together with the choir some of our favourite carols.
Please join us for this celebration of music for Christmas.
