Rivalry, jealousy, and violence take center stage in the Biblical story of King David with choruses that equal those of the greatest oratorios for their power and beauty. Honegger composed ‘Le Roi David’ in 1921 and quickly earned fame throughout Europe for his unique and captivating musical style blending French Impressionism, German Baroque, Gregorian Chant, far-eastern influences and Jazz.
Concert also features the PREMIERE of the new work LEGACY by St.Catharines’ Composer James Moffett and excerpts from John Rutter’s Mass for the Children.
