On Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 7:30 pm, Pax Christi Chorale, under the direction of Elaine Choi, presents Benjamin Britten’s Saint Nicolas.
Saint Nicolas isn’t the Santa Claus story you know. Written in 1948, this dramatic cantata portrays the real 4th-century saint— courageous, compassionate, and human. With vivid storytelling, bold choral writing, and audience carols, Britten fuses reverence, humor, and theatrical flair to bring legend to life. Featuring tenor Asitha Tennekoon, Pax Gallery Choir of Treble Voices, Duo Esprit (piano duo), Oregano Percussion and string orchestra.
Also on the program: a musical journey of Britten’s smaller works for orchestra, soloist, and choir.
