At St. Simon’s Anglican Church, Oakville, our vision is “To be caring people, committed to building community, growing with God and serving the world through Christ’s example.” Our music ministry plays a big part in helping us make that vision a reality.
If you are:
- An accomplished pianist, a capable vocal coach, organist and have directed choirs,
- Someone who can encourage and nurture musical church members to give of their musical gifts as choir members, instrumentalists, or as part of small vocal ensembles;
- Someone who believes strong congregational singing is a priority, and;
- Someone who can integrate music from traditional Anglican hymnody, world church music, popular and modern worship music;
then, you may be the person we are looking for.
Our musical resources include a grand piano, a two manual digital organ, talented musicians who are willing to help out from time to time, and a number of singers including a small to medium sized choir. As we pay in accordance with RCCO recommended salaries, please include your level along with your qualifications and experience. We are looking for a commitment of up to 20 hours per week, including two services on Sunday and a choir practice one evening during the week.
