About RESOUND Choir

RESOUND Choir is an auditioned mixed-voice community choir that seeks the highest quality of performance in traditional and contemporary choral repertoire.  The choir seeks out opportunities to make meaningful contributions to the Durham Region – providing choral workshops and performance opportunities for Durham Region singers, hiring early career instrumentalists, soloists and conductors, premiering the works of early career Canadian composers, partnering with front line community service organizations.  The choir began in January 2019 and in its first year established an audience of over 300, was granted its charitable status, recorded two songs, performed with two chamber orchestras, appeared in a WNED television special and has been awarded three arts grants.

Durham Region is one of the fastest growing areas in the GTA and has a rich history that includes excellence in the performing arts.  In its first year, RESOUND choir has grown from 15 to a current membership of 50 by attracting talented singers from diverse vocal backgrounds.
